Seconde OIB--Oedipus Seminar

Welcome to our first seminar!  Now that you have thought with your pen, you are invited to probe the text and prepare material for the following question about Oedipus:

Whose tragedy is it?  Oedipus’, The Thebans, or the Audience?

For Friday’s class, prepare material for all 3 by writing points on cards with specific evidence to support yourself.

Be ready to stand and participate.  When you get your turn, you will want to refer to the material you have gathered, but you do not want to read off of your card.

Know that part of the exercise is respect for the rights of all to have a turn, so don’t worry: you will have the opportunity to make points.

Therefore: don’t panic and rush to speak.  Take your turn when you have something good to build.

Mostly, have fun!  This is a great exercise in listening and learning from each other.  And, know your stuff!!
